The bribe of water connection

It was a very simple task that the water authority kept delaying until I paid the bribe. they even got the work done from their known contacts who also exploited money from me. Also, Its not the only time I paid the bribe. back in 2008.03.02, some body stole my motorbike that I had bought only a couple of months ago. it was all new and for a student like me very costly and dearly, but it got stolen. I went to the police station in a hurry but they shooed me away seeming to be very disinterested in the agony I was going through. I was begging them to write the report but they kept saying fancy things. Ultimately, a constable told me to pay some bribe. I shocked and told him that its wrong and he said that if I want my report to be in the register, then I have to pay otherwise they will just write it and throw the paper away in the bin. I could not do anything but pay. So, this is how the system works in our country.

I feel pain in my heart talking about this because I love my country a lot. I want it to grow and groom. I want it to show the world the immense potential we have. But all is going in vain because my words wont bring change to our country. I know every person wants our country to blossom but it wont happen because we are corrupt everywhere. I know that I am even writing this in vain because nobody will read this. It will just consume some bytes in the server space ultimately to be deleted.

But its not about bribe, its about patriotism. The government can pay the officials a good salary but due to the overall structure nothing is gonna change.
I am stopping writing as I am feeling bad about this as I know nobody will respond to this. I have taken the usual way of shutting my eyes down to all. I am not an easy bribe giver and I wont until its mandatory. But I will fight against it.
I just want somebody to listen.
