Bribed CID officers for passport verification

The incident took place on 24th January 2016 in the evening. Two officers from CID came to my house for passport verification.
One of the officer's name was M Dube, his phone number is 9430766237.
Both the officers came to my house and asked for the photocopies of the documents. After providing them the respective documents they asked for money.
On Adding them how much they said Rs. 500. They also said that the file will be signed by five officers and it is for them too.
Isn't it's their duty to verify the people details without taking any bribe. I just wonder how much they earn apart from their pay.
