So I am from Bombay. Bribe is part of life anywhere in India. In Bombay I won't mind paying bribe coz I know the process will be faster and it will save the frustration of all the beurocracy of a government institution. But in Bangalore people are so damn greedy they just want to squeeze money out of you but provide no service. My wife is a foreign national and so to register the marriage we had to prepare some documents as per the information provided by some guy at the sub registrar office. After preparing the document we go and ********** the sub registrar and then he asked us for Rs 2500 point blank. We agreed to give 1000 and he said when we come after a month to get the rest. We agreed to that but then he made us run for more documents which really frustrated me and my wife was amazed to see all this. After a month we went and we have to pay Rs 1000 more to get our certificates.
