An auditor comes from the education department (hyderabad), and to enter the date of birth in the Service register... which involves seeing the date of birth in the original degree or certificate and affix his signature ... two hundred is to be paid.... the college establishment clerk acts as a liaison.. if you do not pay... the 200 for the one minute job ... it could be done , but subsequently a drop of ink would be put on the service register (relevant page ) and the pension would be stopped....there are hundreds of such incidents and thousands of ways to harass you if you do not shell out that 200 rupees..... .. for getting your scale of pay revised...my own colleague acts like a broker.. collects money from all the faculty members , and keeps saying that he has to shell out at various stages.... LOCAL FUND AUDIT.. REGIONAL JOINT DIRECTOR .....COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE... TREASURY.... ...SO MANY AGENCIES..... THE "BROKER" ( MY COLLEAGUE!!) TAKES A SMALL CUT IN THE PILE OF MONEY , BUT IT SHOULD BE CONSTRUED AS "GOOD" CORRUPTION, OF COURSE HE PRETENDS AS IF HE HAS NOT TAKEN ANY CUT... HE STRIKES A SECRET DEAL WITH ALL THE FOUR AGENCIES...., WHICH IS DONE AS A "GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT" .. AND ALL MY COLLEAGUES WOULD EVEN GO TO THE EXTENT OF MAKING HIM AN OFFICE BEARER , FOR HIS "HONESTY " AND HAVING GOT THE PAY SCALES REVISED... AND "EXTRACTING" THE ARREARS FROM THE GOVERNMENT ... ..
