I had to pay a huge amount to then Chief engineer, superintending engineer (He later became chief engineer himself) to get the arrears reduced. They were threatening to slap a fine on the pretext of wrong meter readings. They took a huge amount (a fraction of the amount they were going to slap a fine of) to knock it down. Ratneshwar ********** (Superintending Engineer) made frequent calls to scare me into giving him this amount in cash. I paid the whole group 1.5 cr Rs as a bribe.
