Challan for no reason

I was riding my bike and at the sirhind bypass the traffic light was still green and 03 time was left and i moved on .and ahead of the lights a police personnel stopped me asked me for the papers,i showed every paper to them and all were correct.
they demanded 400 rs from me .
when i asked for what, they said for jumping red light. i said that it was stiil green when i crossed it,but they again demanded rupees and then i said that you challan me .
but they asked for the money and said pay us the challan here,but i said you give my challan slip i will pay it myself in the court and then they challaned me.
BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHY I WAS CHALLANED WHEN THERE WAS NOT ANY MISTAKE OF MINE . I WANT TO FIGHT AGAINST THIS BUT DON'T WHERE TO GO .PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN.
