This was the 'Additional Fees' that we were told to pay if we wanted to get our Building plan approved by Chennai Metropolitan Development Agency. The officer came to your house to verify the drawings against actual construction and found trivial deviations and said here is the deviation and pay me 20000 RS for approving this. This was inaddition to 10,000 RS that we paid as necessary fees to CMDA. I am not sure if the aim of CMDA is development as most of our neighbours never applied for a building plan approval and constructed the house. They manage the situation by paying periodic bribe to the visiting 'Tax officers'. Can anyone change this??
