My passport was expiring in a few months and i had applied for renewal of passport.
i was called for police verification by the official at JC Nagar. when i went there he asked for the required documents. i showed him whatever was required. The officer there was not able to point out anything that was missing though he tried his best saying the photocopy of the previous passport was not clear. i showed him the original passport i had but he ignored it. he then started asking for my sslc mark list. i told him i already had ECNR stamp in my previous passport. then finally he asked me to pay Rs:500 as fees. i told him that i had paid passport fees at passport ********** kendra already and i did not have that much money. he then asked for Rs:300. finally i had to give him Rs:100 as he was not willing to proceed without it.
