We lived in a joint family since 1980, due to some family issues some members of the family will have to sell their part of share in the house. The person who bought the house was the builder and he bought the flat and started renovating it and at the same time illegally encroaching on the part which he was not entitled for. Over the few days he not only mentally harassed the owner of the house jointly living in the property but also made several threats to his family members. Finally when the owner decided to take the matter to the police, the very first question that constable asked was "karcha paani kaun deega". I felt like kicking him, but being from a family with good background, I kept cool and saw police officers/people not only minting money from both parties but also taking liberty of coming up with their own idea for negotiation. Well corruption is so well ingraved in our society that it has become a part of it. I always wanted to so something about it but never got an opportunity as i decided to finally move out of country and look for a place where we can live with ease. I was reading about the issues of corruption on the web and came to know about this website and thought its worth sharing our experience too.
