I have started my new business on my own in a small town of Kakinada, A.P 2 years back. I supply equipment to Kakinada Port. The customs there asked me to pay a bribe everytime I brought some equipment in/out of the gate. I protested initially and reported to higher authorities of Customs. It turns out the higher authorities also had a stake in the bribe. They advised me to go along with the flow or face hurdles evertime there is movement of my equipment. I pay a bribe of 9000 every month to Customs without which I cannot run my business. Now they are asking me to pay more and increase the amount to 15000/Month. I am small time business man and trying to run business on tight budget. I am sure they are going to make my life **********if I donot pay that. Request you to do something about it. So if you calculate the amount paid to them @ 9000/Month for last 2 years it'll run more than 2 lakhs so far. There are aroung 7-8 people in Customs who share this bribe which I need not pay.
