Driving without Helmet

Reported on April 29, 2011 from Mysore , Karnataka  ι Report #8830

Almost every month end, the traffic police in Bangalore & Mysore are in shortage of money for their daily expenses. That's the time they start hunting for prey. Their easy target are two-wheeler riders sans helmet. Police hides somewhere under a shade, where he may not be noticed easily. He jumps onto the helmet-less biker, as he nears police. First grabs the key from the bike, goes to his jeep nearby, starts searching for the chalan book. This is an indication that he's expecting 'something'. He'll start asking the biker about DL, NOC, Registration Docs, etc., and says some huge amount has to be paid as 'fine'. Obviously, no one would carry such a big amount casually. So the biker starts saying that he isn't having more money. The prey is caught with no option but pay the bribe at this moment. This is one of my many experiences. This is a never ending story.
