BESCOM knows that building cannot be occupied without electricity and take full advantage of situation, especially for buildings with violations. What is more painful than the bribe taken is the delay and pressure put on the applicant. Even after taking money, the work is delayed and permissions do not come easily. To get electricity to apartment our builder had to pay total of Rs 1.5 lakhs over a period of 6 months. We owners were under huge pressure by the builder and left with no options.
