I had to get my passport made so as to be eligible for my job.I applied for the passport in october 2009 and then got a call from police station in january 2010 and they told me that i had to give 800 rupees in order to get the work done from there side.I was just a student then with no criminal background it was the first time i went to a police station it was a different feeling then.I was thinking that why i should pay them this money my report would anyways be positive as they never had any record against me.But then he(the officer who called me,looked like a clerk in police station) tried to indicate me indirectly that my work will not get done because it was totally dependent on them .They can put any report against me.I got scared because I needed it be done before march 2010 otherwise i would loose my job that too in recession time .I was not ready to take the risk so i had to pay bribe to get the report forwarded.
But it did'nt end here later i had to pay bribe to intelligence department personnel also in Rs 700. I told him that i can not give this money as i have already paid bribe in police station.On this he said 'humara(intelligence department) unka(police department)alag hisab chalta hai' in hindi.So in total i had to pay 1500 rupees as bribe to get my passport made.
