Filing complaint after accident

I while traveling in my car along with my family on the 10th of October about 3.00AM in RT Nagar my car was hit by a overtaking Eicher lorry & I could not note the number of the vehicle in panic. With utmost difficulty i was able to control the vehicle which stopped after hitting a median, my wife was injured & i had to shift her to hospital & had to get to get the vehicle towed to thee garage(the vehicle was just 45 days old)in this panic situation i forgot to file a police complaint & it was the nest day while the insurance surveyor asked me for the copy of the complaint i realized that i had not filed an complaint went to the R Nagar traffic police station. The Inspector was not available the station writer demanded Rs 3000 to file an complaint, after much pleading & begging i put my wallet in front of him & asked him to take what ever i had, it contained Rs 1250, he left Rs 50 in the wallet & took 1200 & just acknowledged my complaint & gave it a copy to me
