When i took admission in MD Homoepathy Part I at SKHMC, BEED, i observed that the state of the medical institution was very sad as compared 2 my graduation medical college at Vile Parle, Mumbai. The sceenario at Beed was as follows - Half the students didn't attend the OPD under the pretext of shortage of patients, the ones who attended, if fortunate, may get to see a new case or 2-3 follow ups. There were no lectures for us rather we were supposed to conduct lectures for the BHMS classes. I had taken admission under the subject of Psychiatry but there was no separate OPD nor an honorary for the same to help us learn the clinical skills. Even i started bunking college and staying more often at mumbai so as to gain clinical experience. Would go to Beed occassionally when there were seminars (THIS IS ALLOWED FOR STUENTS WHO COME VIA CONTACTS). At the end of the one and half year term, when it was time to fill the exam forms, along with the other irregular students, i was told to pay a fine of Rs. 25,000/- or else we wouldn't be allowed to sit for the exams due to short of attendance. We paid the fine for which no receipt was issued (some day of december 2009) and then we were allowed to sit for the exams. But that doesn't mean that the one who has paid a fine and appeared for exam shall clear, nor does your knowledge matter!!! WHAT DECIDES THAT YOU WILL FAIL IN EXAM INSPITE OF WRITING THE PAPERS EQUALLY WELL AS OTHERS IS THE POINT IF YOU HAVE TRIED TO RAISE YOUR VOICE AGAINST THE INSTITUTION IN ANY WAY... I had to pay the fine for PART I but as it was too much for me, i decided to go and stay there for PART II. WHOSE LOSS WAS IT??? THE PATIENTS WHO WILL COME TO ME IN MY INITIAL PRACTICE YEARS AS I DON'T HAVE SUFFICIENT TRAINING - THANKS TO SKHMC which comes under MUHS, NASHIK.
AND GUESS WHAT AN INSTITUTION WHICH DOESN'T HAVE STAFF FOR BHMS HAS RECEIVED GRANTS FOR STARTING A RESEARCH CENTRE!!!!
AND MY ALMA MATER CMPHMC AT VILE PARLE, MUMBAI - WHICH PROVIDES BEST CLINICAL TRAINING AND IS BLESSED WITH TEACHERS WHO MAKE THEORY COME ALIVE HAS NOT BEEN GIVEN THE PERMISSION TO ADMIT STUDENTS TO FIRST BHMS THIS YEAR - THANKS TO MUHS, NASHIK..
