Under Vaikom police station a group of policemen's were receiving bribe of Rs 200/- from each load illegal sand transporting tipper lorry's. There is an illegal connection with police men and sand mining mafias , officers also involved. There is more than 300 hundred illegal sand mining sites and 300 tipper lorry's here in surrounding under vaikom police station so we can calculate the per day income of police men's. One of the malayalam news channel named "Reporter" release an Exclusive video on 30/12/2011 those police men's receiving bribe from mafias . There is all facilities in vaikom police station like speed boats, jeeps everything but they are using it for collecting bribe from sand mafias. sand mining sites near river,lakebanks are illegal as per new river paddy protection act, but here we can see the police is violating laws. there is 1000nds of boats are mining in vembanadu lakes and moovattupuzha river with the help of vaikom police.
