Food safety officers in Tirupur District, Tamil Nadu are demanding huge sums as bribe for issue & renewal of FSSAI licence. They are collecting upto 10,000 for new licence & 5,000every year for renewal. Those who refuse to pay are harassed through non-issue of licence & penalty for non-compliance of food safety standards.
