Forcing bribe or else suffer harrasment

Being a NRI I ensured I had all inter -state permits to travel from Maharashtra to Madhya Pradesh. Was stopped outside Jabalpur by police and I showed my papers. Was still forced to pay Rs300 or else accompany officers to police station and waste hours as he started saying " I have doubts if the papers are genuine". *******
