GAVE A BRIBE TO AVOID HARASSMENT ( OWN LCD TV BROUGHT HOME )
Myself with my wife and two children ( One two Year Old making a loud noice ) reached Customs and as per practice I used to Pay duty, But the lady Officer on duty told me to wait and informed that it will take time and as I had no INR she advised me to Pay the Contract worker nearby who collected UAEd Dirhams 100/- and asked me to wait for the billand moved away. My wife understood better and as the Officer with a smile had asked me to move ahead, I realised that I had paid a bribe.
Being early in the Morning that too on getting a 15 day holiday after reqesting 30 days I was in no mood to fight the establishment from harassment faced by some of my friends after reporting the customs Dept at Kozhikode Airport.
It is very difficult to control these people who are very professional. CCTVs with Public / Govt Reps need to Voluntary Turns in watching them to stop this harassment.
