To get my Shipped package with household items.
1) I had the receipt
2) Paid for Delivery order Rs400 in Air INDIA Office
3) To enter into the customs security was asking Rs100 to allow my brother-in-law. We have to fight with him for more than 45 min for not to pay 100.
4) No idea why the system is so bad where the customer has to walk back and forth to 2 building and get signatures from different people inside the customs.
5) After few steps another security gate did not allow me inside where they have the bank. He said do not go with out agent where you can no do any thing today and have to wait in weeks if you are going alone. Arguing with him for another 30 to 40 min no use.
6) Finally ended up asking a agent and he started asking Rs3000. This does not include the custom charge if there is any for my baby toys and house hold items. Then a group of agents came and started advising. Sir if you go alone you can not get your package today. I said lets get every thing done and then I will pay not confirmed the amount.
7) Agent said sir come with me and see why i am asking this. I went along with him, starting from data entry 100, 200, 300 for all the 5 or 8 signatures.
8) Then it reaches the point where they scan my package, customs officer said you have to pay 1500 for the house hold items and toy even though it is used.
I asked the officer, why the process is so complicated. immediately the people around him said, you got the signature right then move don not ask this question.
They have a system to corrupt. This can be made simple by making everything official (data entry+ service charge+ Scanning charge + duty charge). Get the proof of package do every thing and give the receipt with the charges, once the payment is made deliver the package to the customer.
More over we can not go wit our own vehicle inside the customer to bring the packages.
