I applied for a new passport in 2006 when i was about to go abroad for further studies. I was told that i will receive my passport within 60 days. I waited for more than 3 months, I was supposed to give my passport to the immigration(australia) to get the student visa but i could not just because of this. Then, i met someone at the office who asked me whether i want the passport in next 7 days. When i said yes, he asked me for Rs. 5000. I didn't had any choice, i could not wait longer, so i paid him the money and received the passport the very next day. I hate all the people sitting in the delhi's passport office in ********** puri. They are all bastards.
