I applied for the passport under tatkal scheme as i was getting a chance to go abroad for a job assignment.
The policeman from local police station sector 29 faridabad came for the verification.
He openy asked for some chai paani.
My father said that we haved already given the fee for the passport and my son is physically available at home for the verification.
Then that policeman aske me and my father to come to police station for the verification. I went to the police station for the verificationa and there also the policeman asked for the money.He said that if we dont pay then verification will not be done in required manner.
We had no othet option other than to pay as i needed the passport urgenly.
My father gave Rs 300 but policeman asked for more.Policeman said that the amount would be divided to upper level also.Amount would go to his superiors also.
I felt very let down in this democratic country where having a passport is every individual's fundamental right.
