Am disgusted to pay bribe for 5 years vat assessment done by the concerning officer. The problem with my assessment was that we didnt show exempted purchases while filing our vat returns since august 12, but paid sales tax on the goods sold and even showed the same in our IT returns. we even gave written application to the concern cto but as he was harassing us to produce bills, once we produce the same he asks for other document and so on couldnt close up my business and sit at his office everyday end up paying the bribe which started at 50k and deal was closed at 25k. this proves even if you do legit business and pay all the taxes and work with less margins you end up paying bribe and if you do things illegally make more money you end up paying bribe readers suggest what is good doing it illegally and get more fruits and share the same in bribes or work your a** off and earn less but still end up paying bribe?
