Me and around 18 other people who visited the Tulunj police station in Nalasopara for passport verification paid a bribe because the police officer demanded for it. He even threatened to cancel my passport so that I cannot travel. He kept making demanding for documents that I provided.
When paid the bribe he gave back the envelope saying it was less, after my mother slipped more 200 that made it 700 he asked for 1500. We begged and begged and he agreed for 700 Rupees.
Another officer came home for verification we had to pay him also. We gave 100 but he asked for 500. We told him that we already paid 700, he too agreed and left.
The worst part is that these officers were not in uniform and had no name badge. In spite of having all documents in place I had to pay a bribe.
