I paid bribe Cause i just self defensed .

Me and my friend was going to our office on a bike and my friend was riding it . suddenly a bike came in front of us , and we lost our balance and had an accident with other bike .that was a minor accident . punks who were on that bike started fighting with us with a huge piece of stone around volume of 5x7 square inches and other one had a shovel in his hand . we did some counter attack for self defense . within 3 min a police van came , and one of those punks had a family relation with one of the cops . Instead to taking action against those punks who had shovel an huge piece of stone cops started slapping and abusing us. cause one of those punks had a family relation or acquainted .they took all of our mobile purse , keys , wallets , driving licence and everything .and left those punks to go ,they charged 500 and said we will put you both in jail otherwise pay 500 anyhow. we were threatened and paid 500 and went back to our way .we did now wanted to pay that amount , actually we had nothing to pay , we took it from some other guy and later we return it .
If Police will make relation with criminals and takes action in favor of criminals then what an ordinary people can do . where would we ordinary people go ?
This incident happened at Gorakhpur Police station , Jabalpur ,
