I went to the Mysore , Hebbal division Local Municipal corporation office to apply for Residential certificate. The manager was very helpful but the lower rung staff was hell bent on making my life difficult by not co operating. Finally one of the staff wrote my application in kannada, the official language here and demanded 40Rs from me. I though that it was for some sort of processing charge. But i was not offered any receipt for this amount. I did get a reciept for Rs 100 that i paid for getting the certificate processed from the bank counter. The manager told me the process would take 2 days, but the lower rung staff called me after 7 days. Since i didnt know their local language, any discussion would have been futile. I went after 4 days and the documents were still not ready. I am yet to collect my documents.
