I went to file a fir/ lost item report as I'd lost my original driving lisence and I was applying for a new one.
I was warmly welcomed and asked about where I live, what I do etc.
The officer told me I'd have to first make an affidavit for it on a stamp paper and get it attested. He said it would cost me Rs.300.
Then he gave me another option. He asked me to go to a stationary shop and get a bundle of A4 size sheets.
He stressed that it would be useful for solving and helping people in cases like mine, thereby highlighting that I am supposedly contributing for a good cause.
The bundle costed me Rs.190. And I gave it to him in front of 4 other officers, openly who just kept looking.
I was told by the stationary shop owner that he would eat up funds given to the station for stationary by replacing it with such items.
He also gave me examples of what things are asked for depending upon the cases.
