In bangalore without paying a bribe you just cannot get your house registered. As usual i was told to approach a lawyer who is supposed to know the Sub registrar of Jayanagar. The greedy lawyer told me that it will cost Rs 75000 for the registration.
This was too much for me. So i approached a friend of mine who knew how to get this done at a lower price. So my price was got down to 23000 Rs.
The point to note is that the Sub registrar never touched the money. The guy did not even talk to us. All these bribes were paid outside the sub registrar office. So there is no way that I can trap the sub registrar . THe lawyer is also a broker who would interact directly with the Sub registrar. The money gets paid somewhere else.
Now consider this: To become a sub registrar in Jayanagar this sub registrar has to pay crores of money to a minister. So he is bent on extracting the money from you and me.
Karnataka sucks. The govt is the worst possible one. All the forms are in kannada so that you are forced to go to a middle man.
