My fiance was taking me in a taxi to drop me off at the railway station as I had to travel out of the city on work. In the middle, suddenly an unnumbered traffic police vehicle stopped us & threatened us that we have to pay 10,000 Rupees because they had noticed a girl and a boy alone in a taxi & the CCTV cameras have recorded it.
My fiance got down to talk. He came back to me & told what they were demanding. I got down from the taxi & went to the jeep & told them that he indeed was my fiance. The traffic officer hurriedly told me to get back to taxi, as there was no female constable in the jeep, so it would become an issue. I demanded to see the CCTV footage that they had if anything was inappropriate. They said they would have to take us to the police station & call our guardians. I told them both of us were adults working in a reputable IT company. We were not kids that they will call our parents & moreover we are from a respectable social family & we wouldn't do anything objectionable. And I again demanded to see the alleged footage. They said, considering our background it won't be too much to pay the bribe.
I was hurrying to catch the train. Finally, they agreed for 5000 Rupees. Which we forcibly had to pay so as not to miss the train.
