I went to pay property tax for my house in the municipal office. When the officer there gave me receipt, he pointed out that it did not have my name printed under house owner. He said that its missing and next time if I come with my house registry, he will update in his register so that from next time my name would come in the house tax payment receipt.
Next time I went to the office with my registry. The person there, comfortably stretched back, and picked up a register from behind his back. Opened the page of my house number, and just before writing down my name said that it will cost Rs. 1000 as he has an assistant too. Meaning, they had done mischief and deliberatly left a few names missing from register just to fleece the people later for simply writing down the names.
He said if I do no pay now, then it will take months for formal process to get my name added. Finally he added my name for Rs. 500. I am ashamed to pay, but fell in that time to get my name added to my own house.
