In Thane, I wanted my marriage to be registered and this was around 2.5 years ago. I am not in India now,away from India for last 8 months now, but this was the last I paid bribe in India.
I went and filled all the necessary forms and asked the officer there if the ********** when witnesses and my husband needs to come to sign can be a Saturday if possible. Of course I did not ask her if I needed to pay. She herself said, of course it is possible but you see I have my 2 assistants as well who work for me and all of us need to be taken care of if you want a weekend **********. Well I could have said I am not going to pay give me any **********, but I did not do that and I understand its my bad. But asking for a weekend ********** is that a favor especially when munciple offices do work on Saturdays ? Should she be charging money for this? She did not have to do any extra work for this, this Saturday was one of the working Saturdays for her.
