I'am a 26 yr old woman.I had to correct my name in the passport as there was a mismatch with my degree certificate.A couple of days later, a police officer came for verification,he was rather rude and he asked me to report to the police station.
While I was at the police station ,he started asking me irrelevant questions about why i corrected my spelling etc..,which i personally believe was none of his business.I was loosing my patience at one point when my brother took the guy to a corner and paid him 500rs,after this transaction he smoothly guided me into the SI's office from where i got it verified!
