I have paid a bribe of upto 4000 for obtaining a new water connection to the new house. Multiple people involved from officers to the ward councillor to the workers. Initially everybody talk as if there are very polite and keep delaying the process saying that doc, this doc etc to be submitted. Later after 3 months, one day the officer asks for a bribe to get quick approval from his senior officer. It doesnt end up here. The guy who actually connects the pipe running outside my house to the valve inside my house demands certain amount. He is very rude and challenges that unless 500 is given, connection cannot be established. After stressful visits and their ridiculous behavior, we end up paying the amount for the basic needs.
