No driver's license and bike's papers in hand.

Reported on July 25, 2011 from Kochi , Kerala  ι Report #6294

Left my wallet at home while going out for a late dinner (accompanying friend paid for the dinner), was stopped by a police patrol on M G Road (near PNVM Hospital). Couldn't produce my driver's license, and neither the bike's papers since it was with another friend whose bike I was riding. Had to call him up to come to the spot with the bike's papers and my wallet. On producing the papers it turned out that the insurance had expired four months ago (March). The bike was registered in Andhra Pradesh to add to it.

Was let off after I was lectured on the hassles I would be facing if this went to court and I grudgingly coughed up Rs 300. He might have settled for lesser amount if I had bargained more.
