No price chart for various work @ Sub-Registrar office.
- Stamps and Registration
- Encumbrance Certificate
- Paid INR 500
I needed to get an EC of a property for 20yrs. So i had visited the Chamrajpet Sub-Registrar office to get the same.
Unfortunately like many SR, there is no proper details about how much it will take for each work like EC, Certified copy of sale deed etc.
We the tax paying citizen are at the mercy of their own undocumented system which leads to bribe asking mechanism. Without greasing their palm, it is very hard to get things done over there.
For a 19yrs period of EC, i was told the charge is Rs.200 and worst the bribe is also Rs.200!. I doubt whether Rs.200 is the charge to get an EC.
Question:
1). Why there is no clear chart of what is the fee structure for each work?.
2). Why there is no counter to get the money and give acknowledgment given for that Rs.200?
3). Why citizens are forced to deal with the corrupt office persons due to absence of above 1) & 2)
One more worst thing is, the seals which has been used at SR are in pathetic condition. You can't even read the content of the seal details.
In the age of e-docs etc, horrible state of affairs in IT capital?? of *******
