Had to pay a bribe in order to get the registration done for our new home in Thane. We were told that if we didn't pay we would have to wait for 5 or 6 hours before we would be allowed to finish the process.
The registration happened at the Thane Registration office at Talao Pali. We were there at 8.30 in the morning so we were first in line, the office opened at 10, we were told to pay Rs 1000 (in spite of getting there before everyone else), we were all done by 10.30.
