I had to pay 5500 to get TIN number to start my business. The commercial tax officer(CTO) directly asked the bribe to get it done. I had seen my friend struggle to get a TIN number even after two months of applying. They are doing delay tactics as he refused to give bribe. This is the state of govt offices in India.
