Paid a bribe of Rs.800 to get my marriage registered

I wanted to get my marriage registered. I stay in Nobo Nagar, Kalena Agrahara, Bannerghatta road, Bangalore. Since the marriage registration happens only in the subregistrar's office nearest to the place of stay, I had to go to the Begur road, registrars office.
I had my passport as my id and address proof, 10th marks cards of me and my wife as age proofs. The 'senior sub-registrar and marriage officer', Begur, demanded Rs.1200 as charges for getting the registration done. After much pursuation, I finally ended up pay Rs.800.
