I had to get my marriage certificate from subregistrar office. I got all the documents necessary for the process and then went to the sub registrar office which is located in Nazarbad, Khille Mohalla which is near by to KSRTC, SUburban bustand.
Initiall I was astonished to find the typist who was very sweet with us throughout the registration process and Registrar (Mr. Basavanna) was next to her looking through the process. After everything one lady called me inside and asked me to pay the fees of Rs 700 where as the actual fees was only Rs 180, after much persuasion I paid because they would have spoilt my marriage certificate and then asked another Rs 100 for typist!! I had to pay both. Sub-registrar office in Mysore is very corrupt and officials there act as money siphons. If possible next time I would like to complaint it to lokayuktha.
