Paid Bribe of Rs600 for marriage certificate
Today I felt ashamed of being an Indian! I went to this place today to get my marriage certificate. It was my first time experience to go to such place.
I filled the forms and took all required documents. Firstly, I was asked to pay Rs100 typing charges (Bribe) to a young educated looking women working in this office. What for Rs100 for typing your name and other details in a computer? Its not rocket science. Felt soo ashamed thinking the young ones are soo corrupt then what else can we expect from others.
Then after getting my certificate, they gave me a bill of Rs210 for the registration charges. Then the officer told me I have to pay Rs700. I was shocked. Rs700.. R u serious. It takes shit out of us to earn money. The government already takes soo much taxes and now on top of this I have to pay bribe. I expected Bangalore was the city of honest educated people who really want to change the face of our country.
I do not know whom to complain as I am sure again that department will be corrupt and my voice will go unheard.
I got the bill for Rs210 and had to pay Rs 100 for typing fees(bribe) + Rs 700 for final bill payment. Total Rs800 cash and got the bill for Rs210 only. ;(
