I was married to a Singapore Citizen on Jun 26th in Peralam, Thiruvarur Dist, TN and went to register my marriage in Peralam Registration Dept on Jun 29th. I had all the document required and even had a document for my spouse from Register of Marriages(ROM) dept from Singapore stating my spouse is not married before. But the sub roisterer Thangavel claimed that he doesn't know whether the document from ROM Singapore is valid and he need a document from Singapore embassy stating that my spouse is not married before. I told him, I will get a certificate from Singapore embassy
Chennai and would you issue me the certificate immediately after that. Knowing the fact that I am travelling to USA in the coming week and I had to apply visa for my Wife, he replied that it will take a week to get processed. I didn't have any clue and waiting out side then one of his broker Kannan contacted me and told if I am ready to pay bribe then he will make it done. Since I don't have any option and had been standing there from morning I said Ok. Then he collected all the docs and asked me to come tomorrow. When I reached tmrw he told me to give 4500 to the register and 1000 to him. Then the register given the certificate to me.
