Paid bribe to renew Driving Licence

I had to revnew driving licence.

It was issued in Rajajinagar RTO for motorbike licence [MCWG] in 1990 and the 4-wheeler [LMV] at Jayanagar RTO in 2001. I had also changed my residence twice in the inbetween period.

When I approached the authoririties, they told me that I had to go in-person to my earlier issuee RTO's to obtaion NOC for issuing licence from the current RTO.

According to the instructions on the board at the RTO, it was to be done by them but they insisted that the process has changed but the board has not. I knew that this was not true, but to avoid the hassle to running between RTO's paid a bribe of Rs. 1100.00 [Ruppes one thousand one hundred only].

After paying the bribe the process was as written on the board at the RTO [KA51]. Amazing, isn't it?
