Paid Bribe of Rs 500 for a police officer

I applied for a passport in Andhra Pradesh. The police of came to check my criminal reports and stuff, even though my record was clean the officer asked me for Rs 500 as a bribe, I gave the money because I have no other option. I felt riduculous.
