Got a call from the police station for verification.
Was asked to get details of neighbors and their father's name. 2 Identity proofs, proof for my educational qualification. The intention was to intimidate as much as possible. Even application for passport does not need so much of information.
Was asked to get signatures of neighbors on a blank application and details written in a separate sheet (this is done so that, the official can fill it in his handwriting as if he visited my neighbors and then filled it).
Then was threatened that he will file the verification as 'person not available when visited' if I dont cough up money. Finally had to give him the bribe to get the **********out of there.
