Police officer remains unnamed, I too remain unnamed. The incident took place today. Since all the documents were in proper order the officer asked me to pay just so that I get my passport in time. It is generally commonplace to grease the palms of the officers to get your police verification report. This is so common that the police verification round has become Paying Bribe round. Nearly 95% of the people have paid bribe while getting their passports, or their passports have been delayed by ADVERSE REPORTS or some other reasons.
