Paid Rs. 2000 to get EC from Sub-Registrar office(Chamrajpet, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560018)
- Stamps and Registration
- Encumbrance Certificate
- Paid INR 2,000
Hi,
In Aug 2016, I went to the sub-registrar office(Chamrajpet, 3rd Main Road, Rameshwara Temple Rd, Chamrajpet, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560018.) to do registration of my new flat.
I paid more than Rs. 30,000 as registration fee through DD.
After registration was done a person from builder side asked me to give Rs. 2000 to give to officials. I initially resisted to give the amount, then he said that if you don't give this amount, these govt officials will not give EC easily , you will have to come to this office 4-5 times which will waste your time and money so better to give now itself.
Since others were also giving the same 2000 Rs. , I had to give the same.
This scenario happens every time people go for registration at this office.
Officials who sit there, don't take this money directly from people, instead a person from builder side takes this money and give it to the govt officials later.
There was no receipt for the same.
If you want to check this, go to this office on any Saturday , and just stand there in the office as if you have come with someone for registration and watch the builder officials who are there, you will notice taking them money from the people who have come for registration.
They don't ask for his initially, instead they for it after the registration formalities are done and when people need to go for EC.
I was helpless and had to give this bribe, but I feel very sorry after doing that. It was very shameful for me.
It would be great if you can do something about that. Please try to stop it as they are looting a common man's money for no reason.
