Paid Rs. 300 for police verification, but still pending

Reported on November 28, 2016 from Mumbai , Maharashtra  ι Report #136903

Name of the Officer: Ajay Chaudhary
Date of the incident: 26/11/2016
Time of the incident: 4:30 pm
Location of the Incident: Cufffe Parade Police Station, Mumbai
Designation of the officer: Not known

On November 26, 2016, the police had called me for the verification in the police station with all the required documents i.e. two electricity bills current and previous year, bank statement, photo pass of house, adhaar card, the list goes on. After checking all the documents he said to wait as he wants to visit my house for verification. After verification he said "kuch hai kya". I said kya... he said chai paani. I asked how much. He said Rs. 500. I said what Rs. 500 for chai paani. I was really shocked when I heard Rs. 500 for chai paani. After that he also said that an old currency of Rs. 500 note will also do. He said that a signature is required for the passport and if you don’t give then the passport would be cancelled. By all these incidents, I’m losing my faith in all these guys.

Every day we talk about making India corruption free even the current government is trying very hard to make it corruption free country, but still there are few nuisance bacteria thriving on people’s money by harassing them and misusing their power. I would urge the concerned authority to take a stringent action and punish the culprit whoever is involved in all these practices, so that in future, they don’t harass any common people like us. I have given my precious time to write all this and at least hope for some positive outcome otherwise it will be of no use.
