My wife had applied for a Tatkal passport, got it and gone out of country on a business trip during which time the police cop came home for verification stating that they would like to see her at home without which verification can not be completed. They have kept the file pending until she returns after 3 months, making several phone calls to those references mentioned in the application meanwhile. Upon returning to country, they insisted that she should come to police station along with proof of address etc documents which were already submitted along with original application itself. When we visited the police station and provided all evidence they have asked for, they were still keeping the file aside making us to wait for ever. Finally, the shameless cop asks publicly 'you need to pay fees else the file will not be processed'. Not knowing what to do, I was forced to pay Rs.500/- in anguish and get rid of the dirty place.
