I applied for a Tatkal passport for my kids. Got the passport very fast ; in fact two days flat. However ; a policeman visited our home for Police verification of kids aged below 7 year !!! And after checking the proofs of residence and birth ; he asked for a Rs 1000/ -( Rs 500 for each kid). My wife had no option but to pay as we did not want our foreign trip to jeopordised.
