Passport office and police hand in hand.

I applied for renewal of my passport. I was told that the Police verification has been waived off and I will receive my passport in 30 days. I received my new passport in 30 days but post that an officer from Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) turend up at my residence. He had my papers which I have submitted at the passport office and demanded a bribe. I told him that I have already received my passport and at that he threatened me that my passport will be cancelled. He demanded 1000/- but finally ended up in 500/- bucks. After two days a police officer from SSP office again turned up for verification. Same story unfolded and finally I had to part with another 500/- bucks. Long story short, corruption is a way of Life in India. Indian politicians and bureaucrats suck.
